To commemorate the 58th anniversary of Ronald Ryan's execution, Pentridge Voices collaborated with the National Crime and Justice Museum, Veronica Allen (Ryan's niece), and her husband Chris Allen to create the "End of the Rope - Shadows of Capital Punishment" exhibition at the Old Geelong Gaol. This moving tribute explores the human cost of capital punishment.

This exhibition goes beyond the question of guilt or innocence. It delves into the story of Ronald Ryan, the man, offering a deeper understanding of his life and the impact of his execution. To ensure this exhibition truly reflects the weight of this history, Pentridge Voices worked closely with former Pentridge Prison prisoners and officers, incorporating their invaluable perspectives. Their interviews with key figures who either met Ryan, were incarcerated at the same time, or spent time in Pentridge offer vital and essential insights into this dark chapter of Australian history. An audio-video montage also contributes to this powerful narrative, alongside Veronica Allen's poignant family memories and Chris Allen's photography.

Dr. Atalanti Dionysus contributed her award-winning VR documentary "A Miscarriage of Justice", offering an immersive experience into Ryan's final days.

A profound reminder of the consequences of state-sanctioned death.

The exhibition runs until April 30, 2025.
