"The Prisoners' Action Group seeks to expose the ill-treatment, deprivation, humiliation, and brutality inherent in the Victorian penal system. (...)"

The Prisoners’ Action Group (P.A.G.) was first established at La Trobe University in 1972 as a result of the release from Pentridge Gaol of three La Trobe students Barry York, Fergus Robinson and Brian Pola.

By 1973 P.A.G. had organised rallies outside Pentridge to protest against the conditions of prison life and to bring them to the attention of the people. The La Trobe Three ( York, Robinson and Pola, were key figures.)

The magazine Prisoners' Voice appeared six times yearly.

Donated by Barry York.

Held in Pentridge Prison online Museum Collection/Katrin Strohl.
