Pentridge Public Opening

This brochure was produced in 1997 by VACRO (the Victorian Association for the Care and Resettlement of Offenders) and CORE (the Public Correctional Enterprise).

The tours ran from July to September 1997 and provided visitors with access to several divisions, yards and service areas of the former prison.

Proceeds from ticket sales and souvenir purchases were directed to VACRO’s community and family support programs, which assisted people leaving custody and the families of prisoners. The initiative also marked VACRO’s 125th anniversary, highlighting its long-standing role in supporting rehabilitation and reintegration in Victoria’s correctional system.
