Pentridge Conservation Management Plan

The Pentridge Conservation Management Plan (August 1996) is one of the earliest and most detailed heritage studies of the former prison complex. Prepared for the Department of Treasury and Finance and the City of Moreland, it outlines the historical significance of both HM Prison Pentridge and the Metropolitan Reception Prison.
The plan carefully ranks buildings by heritage value, maps their historical footprint, and provides conservation policies to guide any future redevelopment or protective works. This document captures Pentridge at the moment of its closure.
This report has been prepared by Allom Lovell & Associates.
An online version of this publication is publicly accessible; however, the museum now holds an original 1996 printed copy, generously donated by Brendan Money.
