Printed for the Prison Officers Grand Finale Dinner Dance held at Taylors Lakes Reception Rooms, this menu commemorates one of the final social gatherings for current and former staff before the closure of H.M. Prison Pentridge in 1997.

The event marked the end of both Pentridge’s 144-year history (1853–1997) and Her Majesty’s Victorian Prison Service.

The menu and accompanying historical image sheet were designed by former prison officer and later Assistant Governor, Colin Nash. A total of 250 copies were professionally printed, with the cost reportedly covered by the Governor.

The reverse features a curated selection of photographs documenting prison divisions, industries, staff life and the official decommissioning ceremony held on 1 May 1997.
